Biography

Andrew Slade is a Victoria based jazz musician and teacher with a flair for live performance. He has a degree in music from UVic and has trained professionally at the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. His high energy, West Coast style, consistently wows audiences with creative improvisation and incredible technique. He is known not only for his interpretations of jazz standards, but for his brilliant piano arrangements of Beatles tunes and other popular music. He seamlessly blends a refined classical touch and a love of jazz harmony in a style that is all his own. Born and raised on Vancouver Island, he can be seen at numerous venues throughout Victoria, as well as regularly with the Monday Night Big Band
